This morning we bring you a customer who's bottle labels we have been printing for several years now.

Luddenden Valley Wines are producers of Fruit Wines & Liqueurs made at their smallholding in Luddenden Village, from ingredients grown themselves or sourced locally.

Their founding principle was to develop a sustainable use for their hillside smallholding of 8 acres to incorporate their passion for wildlife, gardening, farming and conservation.

They began making fruit wines on their smallholding in the stunning conservation village of Luddenden in 2001. Over the last thirteen years they have planted a large variety of fruit and other produce and sourced numerous wild hedgerow berries and blossoms.

These have been tried and tested to produce a shortlist of delicious limited edition wines and fruit liqueurs made using traditional recipes and techniques with no fruit concentrates.

Much of the produce such as strawberries, apples, blackcurrants, gooseberries, cherries and parsnips are grown on south west facing slopes in the heart of the village.

Using a combination of pressing and cold infusion techniques they extract juices and flavours for fermentations.

They are proud of the holistic approach to their activities. Fruit trees and soft fruit bushes share the same orchards. Chickens roam freely providing fertilizer and pest control, while rare breed, free range pigs root up the land in advance of new plantings. Spent fruit is also fed back to the pigs once it has been pressed in the wine making process.

Luddenden Valley Wines can be purchased directly from them through a great website called Eebria.
